Pipeline & stages: drag deals to close
Answer: The pipeline is a visual Kanban board where you drag leads between stages. You can add, rename, recolor, and reorder your own stages to match your sales process.
A visual Kanban board where leads move through stages with drag-and-drop — plus how to add, rename, recolor, and reorder your own stages.
The Pipeline view turns your lead list into a Kanban board. Each column is a pipeline stage, each card is a lead, and moving a lead is as simple as dragging the card from one column to another. It's the fastest way to see, at a glance, where every deal stands.
The default stages
A fresh account starts with six stages: New → Contacted → Qualified → Proposal → Won → Lost. The Won column computes your pipeline value automatically (the value of all won deals), and each card is color-coded by the lead's score so hot leads stand out at a glance.
Move a lead between stages
- 1Open the Pipeline view.
- 2Click and hold a lead card and drag it to another column.
- 3Release — the lead's status updates immediately and the new stage is saved to the record.
- 4Watch the Won column's total update as deals cross over.
Customize your stages
- 1Open Pipeline settings from the Pipeline view.
- 2Add a new stage with a name and pick a color for the column.
- 3Drag stages in the settings list to reorder them — the board updates to match.
- 4Rename or recolor any stage, or delete one you no longer need. Deleting a stage reassigns leads that were in it.
Stage changes are the backbone of your sales process, so matching them to how you actually sell (for example, adding a 'Demo booked' stage between Qualified and Proposal) makes the board far more useful than a generic funnel.
